Novice men's crew just miss out on win

The Star Novice men's crew of Paul Tredget, Chris Tredget, Tim Brown, Ian Beale and cox Laura Wallbank attended the Cambridge Autumn regatta on Sunday 13th September.

As Star Club's only representatives at the event, the crew, in the last regatta of the season, did the club proud.

They won their first heat against Sudbury easily. The semi-finals against Cantabrigian was a tougher race, but won again by clear water owing to Star being a stronger crew. The final was against X-Press, a strong Cambridge based crew. The Star crew held their own in a hard fought and well rowed race, but were unfortunately beaten to the line by just over a length.
